Plane spotting in Poland: what you should know

Poland’s air traffic has been growing strongly for years. Warsaw Chopin is LOT’s hub, while Kraków, Gdańsk and Katowice have become important bases for low-cost and leisure airlines.

Photography from publicly accessible areas is allowed. At airports shared with the military and near the border, restraint is advisable; you don’t photograph military areas.

In winter the days are short and often gray, while in summer leisure flights bring extra movements. You get the best conditions from May to September on days with dry continental air.
