Plane spotting in Hungary: what you should know

Hungarian air traffic is concentrated in Budapest. Wizz Air is headquartered there, so A320 family aircraft in the low-cost carrier’s livery dominate the scene. On top of that comes scheduled and leisure traffic from all over Europe.

Photography from publicly accessible areas is allowed. On observation decks, in terminals and in parking garages, the operator’s house rules apply, and the security area is off-limits.

At Budapest Airport, the Aeropark displays retired aircraft – a good item on the itinerary for days with little traffic or poor light.

Aviation museums & exhibitions

Museums and exhibitions with historic and retired aircraft. Weather-proof, easy to plan and a chance to see types up close that stopped flying long ago.
